Do you like exploring the area on foot, in harmony with nature? In that case, the Hiking Package will inspire you – as the region around the Retreat really does have much to offer that will kindle your enthusiasm for hiking. In the Hiking Package, you hike for about 2 – 3 hours a day in a small group of maximum 10 people, led by an experienced local guide. Your guide will show you the most beautiful hiking trails and the best lookout points, and knows plenty of stories and interesting information about the area, the country and the people here. 

Your guide will lead you all through a wide variety of natural settings. So, for one thing, you’ll all explore one of the many hiking trails along the wild Atlantic coast with their craggy stretches of coast, picturesque bays and quaint fishing villages – including fantastic views over the azure sea and idyllic golden beaches. Or you’ll hike through the magical “Serra de Sintra” Natural Park. The town of the same name, Sintra, was once the summer residence of the Portuguese kings and a centre of architecture. Here, your guide will lead you through the Natural Park around Sintra – which, with its rugged mountain landscape and pristine forests, radiates a fascinating, mystical atmosphere: definitely well worth a visit! In 1995, the entire cultural landscape of Sintra was even declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The region and its unique flora and fauna with many superb views over the Atlantic will enchant you. Incidentally, its pleasantly cool climate makes this area perfect for hiking throughout the year.
